And overall, is Vegas a good place to live given MY situation (not the same as someone raising 3 kids on a $40000 salary). Are there quality twentysomethings (both gay and not gay) in Vegas or do they lack substance relative to other major cities? Are the people there uneducated and only like to party? What is the nightlife like there? Is Vegas a difficult city to be single in? Is Vegas a difficult city to be gay in? Are all the gay guys living in Vegas chippendales? Ha, you get my point. My concerns are the gay scene and the overall scene in Las Vegas. My hobbies are watching independent movies, seeing indie bands, playing poker, and hiking. I enjoy the occasional drink or two but are by no means a drunk. I enjoy playing poker but are by no means a gambling addict. I plan on renting an apartment when I get there, so I am only concerned with apartment rent prices, NOT housing prices. Most pharmacist jobs pay the same throughout the nation at about $90K-$100K to start. so how good/bad Vegas' job market is does not really concern me much. I have a pharmacy degree and since pharmacists are relatively high in demand even in this job market, I am confident that I will be able to find a job.
I have no children and have no plans to have children at the moment so I don't care about school systems very much.
I just earned my PharmD (pharmacist professional degree) and am looking for a new place outside of Iowa to live. I am a single 27 year-old gay man from Des Moines, IA. I know the "Is Las Vegas a Good Place to Live?" thread has been done to death here, but none of them have addressed whether it is a good place to live for a non-family man.
